Join our weekly "Opera Movie Club" virtual discussions, hosted by the OTSL Guild, for a fun way to engage with opera from your home!

Spend an hour each Monday afternoon with fellow opera lovers engaging in a book club-style discussion. Each week, the discussion will center on a performance that is easily accessible to stream for free. These are informal meetings, open to all — join as you are able, for one week, two weeks, or as many as you would like!

Many featured productions will come from the readily available Met Opera HD series, but we also look for operas that are being streamed by other companies around the world.

Please email guild@opera-stl.org for the Zoom meeting information. We will also be happy to assist you with getting set up on Zoom if you are new to the platform.

May 11, 3 p.m. CT: La bohème (The Metropolitan Opera, 1977)

May 18, 4 p.m. CT: Peter Grimes (The Metropolitan Opera, 2008) & Rigoletto (The Metropolitan Opera, 2013)

This week, we’re taking a look at two operas: the 2008 production of Peter Grimes, starring our very own Artistic Director of Young Artist Programs, Patricia Racette, and the 2013 production of Rigoletto, which is set in 1960 Las Vegas. Feel free to watch one or both of these operas this week and join us for some interesting conversation!
