2017 John D. Levy Master Classes

Witness the next generation of singers as they train with renowned artists on select arias alongside current Gerdine Young Artists and Gaddes Festival Artists.

Both programs are held at the Sally S. Levy Opera Center. Tickets are $12 at the door or free to donors of $250 and above.

June 16 – Master Class with Tenor Neil Shicoff. Neil Shicoff is one of the most sough-after tenors of his generation having sung with all of the world’s leading opera companies and orchestras to great critical acclaim. He has amassed a repertoire encompassing dozens of operas, including signature roles from Verdi, Mozart, Puccini, Massenet, Offenbach, Donizetti, Britten, Bizet, Strauss, and Tchaikovsky. Mr. Shicoff brings experience garnered from his extensive career to share with this season’s young artists.

June 23 – Master Class with Soprano Patricia Racette. Patricia Racette is known as one of the great singing actresses of our time, and she continues to share her artistry with audiences around the world. She has performed in all of the world’s major opera houses and is a particular favorite at San Fransisco Opera and the Metropolitan Opera. Ms. Racette returns to OTSL, where she made her debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni in 1995. Ms. Racette will make her directing debut with OTSL’s 2018 production of La Traviata.
