National and Local Artists Lift Their Voices in Support of Friends of Normandy Scholarship Fund at “#WithNormandy: A Concert for Peace & Unity”

WHO: A powerhouse collection of singers who believe that the performing arts can play an important role in cultivating an environment of hope and support for the young people in north St. Louis County, including jazz artists, blues musicians, choirs, cabaret singers, and classically trained musicians:

Nationally acclaimed St. Louis performers Derrell AconThe Gene Dobbs Bradford Blues Experience, Julia Bullock,Duane FosterErika Johnson, and Jermaine Smith

St. Louis-based choirs The Normandy High School Choir (fresh from their 2013 appearance at Carnegie Hall) under the direction of Duane Foster, the Cote Brilliante Presbyterian Men’s Choir under the direction of Dwayne Buggs, theGateway Men’s Chorus under the direction of Al Fischer, and the Shalom Church (City of Peace) Choir under the direction of Dello Thedford.

WHAT:#WithNormandy: A Concert for Peace & Unity,a ninety-minute concert, focusing on spirituals and American songs. Free and open to the public, the concert promotes and supports Normandy High School’s Friends of Normandy Scholarship, which provides financial resources to graduating seniors pursuing higher education. Voter registration opportunities through the Urban League Young Professionals of Saint Louis will also be available.

WHEN: Sunday, September 28 at 4:30 p.m.
House opens at 4:00 p.m. Seating is first-come, first-served.
