Paris roared in the 1920s, inspiring the art and literature of a Lost Generation of expatriates. At the epicenter of this creative explosion was Gertrude Stein, whose salon at #27 Rue de Fleurus became a second home for such luminaries as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and Pablo Picasso. International sensation Stephanie Blythe makes her Opera Theatre debut as Stein, in a role written specifically for her. Experience the next chapter in new American opera as the New Works, Bold Voices series continues with this world premiere. Directed by James Robinson and conducted by Michael Christie.
The commissioning and development of Twenty-Seven are made possible with a leadership gift from Alison and John Ferring. Generous support also comes from the Fred M.
