Presenting the 2011 Festival Season Share

Main Performance
THE DAUGHTER OF THE REGIMENT

A dazzling showcase of vocal fireworks, Donizetti’s delicious comedy is the tale of Marie — who was found on the battlefield as a tiny baby and adopted by the 21st Regiment of the French Army — and her beloved Tonio (he’s the one with the nine high C’s).  Staged by Salome director Seán Curran, it features Ashley Emerson as Marie and tenor René Barbera making his OTSL debut as Tonio.

All operas sung in English and performed with members of the famed Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.

"The Opera Theatre season doesn't last nearly long enough ... But while it's running, it's the best thing going in the St. Louis region."
-- St. Louis Post-Dispatch
