Opera Theatre of Saint Louis Welcomes the Addition of Three New Staff Members in Public Relations, Production, and Development
Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, which recently concluded its 39th season announce the hire of three staff members this summer, as the company begins to prepare for its 40th anniversary season.

The season opens with The Barber of Seville, conducted by St. Louisan Ryan McAdams, and includes the American premiere of Handel’s Richard the Lionheart and new productions of the tragic saga Emmeline by Tobias Picker and Puccini’s classic La rondine.
Opera Theatre of Saint Louis offers series of free events throughout June as part of 2014 festival season
In addition to its four mainstage productions, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis offers a variety of free events to the general public throughout the 2014 Wells Fargo Advisors Festival Season, including its A Little Lunch Music concert series on June 9, 16, and 23, and a panel discussion on women of faith at the Missouri History Museum on June 10.
Opera Theatre of Saint Louis is pleased to announce that Wells Fargo Advisors has renewed its leadership gift of $150,000 to sponsor the 2014 Festival Season. This is the fifth year in which Wells Fargo Advisors is the presenting sponsor of the spring festival season, as well as the annual spring gala. The “27” Gala took place at the historic Union Station Hotel on Saturday, May 17, and generated over $592,000 in contributions for Opera Theatre. OTSL’s 2014 season opens tomorrow, running May 24 – June 29, 2014.
Opera Theatre to Celebrate the Launch of the Wells Fargo Advisors 2014 Festival Season with the “27” Gala, May 17 at Union Station
Saturday, May 17,Opera Theatre will launch its 39th festival season with the “27” Gala, at Union Station. The gala will celebrate the world premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon and Royce Vavrek’s “27,” commissioned by Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as its 24th world premiere and the second installment of the New Works, Bold Voices cycle of new American operas. The opera is inspired by Gertrude Stein and legendary artists and writers Matisse, Cézanne, Picasso, Hemingway, and Man Ray who gathered in her private salon at 27 rue de Fleurus in Paris.
Opera Theatre of Saint Louis Announces Final Casting and Production Artists for 2014 Festival Season
St. Louis, MO, February 18, 2014 – Stephanie Blythe, Christine Brewer, Jane Glover and Isaac Mizrahi are among the major artists who will appear during Opera Theatre of Saint Louis’s 2014 spring season, which opens at the Loretto-Hilton Center on May 24, 2014 with Mozart’s The Magic Flute and continues through June 29 with three additional new productions. The season is also highlighted by the world premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon’s “27,” the company’s first-ever production of Poulenc’s The Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Donizetti’s delightful The Elixir of Love.

St. Louis, MO, February 14, 2014 – Opera Theatre’s 2013 world premiere Champion, which was co-commissioned with Jazz St. Louis, continues to garner international recognition with the February 13 announcement from the 2014 International Opera Awards that the opera, by composer Terence Blanchard and librettist Michael Cristofer, has been named one of five finalists in the category of “world premiere.” The award will be given on April 7 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London. Champion is the only finalist in the category written by both an American composer and an American librettist.
Opera Theatre’s Annual Wine and Beer Tasting Celebrates Great Food and Drink at the Sally S. Levy Opera Center on Saturday, February 8
St. Louis, MO, January 27, 2014 – Opera Theatre of Saint Louis announces its Annual Wine and Beer Tasting, which will take place Saturday, February 8, 2014 at the Sally S. Levy Opera Center. This evening, co-chaired by Diane Dark, Stacy & Scott Galt, and Becky & Aaron Willard, will feature more than 40 wines and beers for tasting, as well as a silent auction featuring rare vintages and fine dining packages from St. Louis restaurants. Proceeds will benefit Opera Theatre’s renowned professional training programs, which provide special performance opportunities, master classes, and coaching sessions for the most promising singers in the country, as well as an intensive technical apprentice program for aspiring students of scenic, lighting, costume, or props design.
