"We're proud of the range of talents involved in our programs,"
says Charles MacKay, OTSL general director. "The same quality
which attracts professional singers from all over the U.S. to
work with people like Colin Graham and Stephen Lord is also applied
to local programs like Artists-in-Training (AIT), the technical
apprenticeships and the children's opera. People are receiving
the same quality of individualized attention whether they come
as children or young professional singers."
"We've always been known for nurturing young American artists,"
MacKay continues. "We're now expanding that mission with an eye
both to our commitment to the community and to the future of opera
itself, bringing in young people as audience and participants,
students and professionals. Opera Theatre doesn't disappear when
the season's over -- we're a major year-round presence in St.
Louis."
