Opera Theatre St. Louis

If you haven't been to Opera Theatre before, get ready for a surprise: this isn't old-style opera in huge theaters and foreign languages. You'll see exciting brand-new productions, sung in English by the best young artists, accompanied by members of the famed Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.  You’ll experience opera in a 987-seat theater that brings the audience close to the action – and the English text is projected at the sides of the stage, so you won’t miss a word!

The 2010 Season offers four all-new productions, each one powerful and exciting.   Laugh-out-loud comedy turns into universal truth; romantic fantasy into crushing regret.  Isaac Mizrahi makes his directing debut and a cherished fable becomes a world premiere.  Don't miss Mozart's  The Marriage of Figaro,  Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Sondheim's A Little Night Music, or the world premiere of The Golden Ticket -- the new opera by Peter Ash and Donald Sturrock based on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
