With more than a dozen year-round education programs reaching between 14,000 and 20,000 adults and children annually, Opera Theatre is a national leader in arts education through the commissioning of new works for young people–a total of 7 operas with more on the way, annual workshops for teachers in Music! Words! Opera!, award-winning vocal programs for young singers including Monsanto’s Artists-in-Training and Spring Training programs, Opera Camp for Kids, A Little Lunch Music, and Artists-in-Residence, among others.

The same standards of excellence which attract professional singersfrom all over the U.S. to work with people like Jim Robinson and Stephen Lord is also applied to local programs like Monsanto's Artists-in-Training (AIT), Emerson Behind the Curtain programs and the children's opera. People are receiving the same quality of individualized attention whether they come as children or young professional singers.
