2014 Spring Gala
  • 2014 Spring Gala

  • Location: Saturday, May 17, 2014
Event Leadership: Alison Ferring and Susan Sherman
Location:St. Louis Union Station, designed by architect Theodore C. Link and designated a National Historic Landmark. Cocktails will take place in the Grand Hall and dinner will be served in the Midway.
Event Description: Opera Theatre will launch its 39th festival season with an elegant gala celebrating the world premiere of Ricky Ian Gordon’s Twenty-Seven.  Union Station will be transformed into Gertrude Stein’s Parisian salon at #27 rue de Fleurus, where intellectual and artistic discourse was a high stakes game and the works of legendary artists such as Picasso, Matisse, and Cézanne filled the walls.  Guests will enjoy delectable French cuisine, dancing, and performances by principal artists from the 2014 season.
To Benefit: The gala will be planned by an active committee of community leaders and will benefit Opera Theatre’s professional development programs for emerging artists and the company’s education and community engagement initiatives, which serve more than 11,000 local students each year.
Revenue Goal: $550,000 with 400-450 guests in attendance
