On Saturday, May 11, 2013 Opera Theatre will launch its 38^th festival season with an elegant gala set in Paris on the banks of the River Seine, in celebration of the company’s new production of Puccini’s Il tabarro.  The black-tie event will take place at Wells Fargo Advisors and will feature an appearance by renowned mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves, who makes her Opera Theatre debut in 2013, and performances by select principal artists from the season.  Susan and Danny Ludeman will serve as co-chairmen of the event.

The gala will be planned by an active committee of community leaders and will benefit Opera Theatre’s professional development programs for emerging artists and the company’s education and community engagement initiatives, which serve more than 11,000 local students each year.  Tickets start at $500 per person.
